Our Wedding Day and the Journey of Twelve Tables. After 8 years, Jean conveniently decided to propose a week before we were due to leave on an indefinite trip overseas. Overwhelmed with love and excitement I wanted to get planning straight away (although let’s be honest, it was pretty well planned on Pinterest well before he popped the question). While in South America, a wedding competition “Your Wedding Your Way” was advertised with 4 kick ass vendors, Mellissa Mills, Two Foxes Styling, Muck Floral and Love Solider Weddings. I don’t normally enter competitions, but it seemed too good to be true. 130 couples entered and 8 couples were interviewed as “finalists”. By the time the competition had been drawn, we were in Columbia (with some very shotty wifi) and one of my best pal’s Bridget, managed to connect to the wifi before I could login. She yelled “you got chosen, you’ve won” we screamed and hugged and celebrated with two of our best friends and VERY average ‘Colombian’ champagne. Now the wedding planning started to get serious (as serious as possible with another 9 months of travel still up our sleeves). Planning a wedding from abroad was reasonably easy, but finding some of our “must have” hire items wasn’t. So, to cut a long story short, Twelve Tables was born. Born from a love of quality, a love for weddings and a drive to work together as Mr and Mrs. Arriving in New Zealand with only a few months until the ‘BIG’ day, Jean had a huge task of building seating and tables for 125 guests. A few late nights and a lot of love later, we found ourselves sitting under our very own Clear Marquee, looking out at all of our favourite people celebrating our love, seated at the furniture Jean had put so much work into. We can wholeheartedly say our wedding day and the days surrounding were the very best of our lives. Our wedding vendors were some of the most inspiring, hardworking and lovely people! If we were to do our wedding again, we’d invite them to our wedding as friends. We will forever be grateful to each of them. Not only were they amazing to work with and helped us create the most magical day, they accidentally introduced us to the most uplifting industry that we feel so damn privileged to be a part of. Your wedding day really is created by a small army. My advice is to choose your army well, because they can literally make or break your wedding day. Now a year later, we have tripled our hire items to seat over 300 people, (which should be enough to seat all the extra guests your parents and in-laws have added to the list). Our adventure as Twelve Tables continues as yours infolds, and we couldn’t be more excited. lovesoldierweddings.com.au/#!/sara-jean CREDITS Photographer Melissa Mills // Cinematographer Love Soldier Weddings // Stylist, Signage and Lighting Two Foxes // Florist Muck Floral // Catering The Big Smoke BBQ // Dessert Styx // Wedding Favours Lulu N Cat and Breadnz // Marquee and furniture hire Twelve Tables // Entertainment Graeme James // Bridal Gown Designer Karen Willis Holmes // Robes Wallace Cotton // Lingerie Cotton On Body // Shoes Dakota //Earrings Zoe and Morgan //Bracelet Jean Pascoes //Hair Dedeph // Makeup Makeup by Ballie // Bridesmaid Dresses Moochi //Groom’s Jacket Cour Carre // Shirts Zara // Belts and Shoes Barkers // Pants Country Road // Bow Tie Bowzie.

As the wedding season gets into full swing and future brides and grooms are starting to make plans for their big day we're getting plenty of people asking if we will travel to all those un-touched and beautiful corners of New Zealand and the answer is.... YES!
We would love to help make your day that much better and have even agreed to travel to Christchurch for a wedding next year! Wooohooo |
